Syracuse, N.Y.--
Election Day brought more of the same for Bill Magnarelli--the Democrat won the 120th District Assembly race by a large margin as he was elected to his seventh term. Magnarelli took 63% of the votes to defeat Republican challenger Rick Guy and hold on to the position he has held since 1998, when Bernie Mahoney stepped down.

After getting word of his victory, Magnarelli talked at his headquarters in Liverpool about how he's excited to work with new governor Andrew Cuomo.

"It's a new administration," Magnarelli said. "I know that Andrew Cuomo is someone with a lot of experience, someone who I've been able to know and work with for many years, so I'm looking forward to it."

Magnarelli also previewed the top three things on his agenda:
  • Improving the economy
  • Creating jobs
  • Balance the budget
Magnarelli said that balancing the budget will be a "monumental task," but added supporters can trust him based on his track record from working for the 120th Assembly District for the last 12 years.
